Sienna Primary Domain Controllers

The Sienna PDC acts as a domain controller and file and print server for Windows, Apple Mac and UNIX/Linux users. Even though the server is effectively immune to Win32 based viruses, it also supports file synchronization between other Sienna servers, over LAN / WAN and even dial-up connections.

The system services can be easily managed through a Web interface and is also configured for remote support. The Sienna server also sports drive mirroring for increased data security.

The server can also be integrated into an existing Microsoft or Novell managed network and offers excellent scalability without the hassle of client access licenses (CALs).

Sienna Network Attached Storage (NAS)

The Sienna Network Attached Storage (NAS) Server is a complete storage system which is designed to be attached to a traditional data network.

The Sienna Network Attached Storage (NAS) is designed to separate storage resources from network and application servers in order to simplify storage management and improve the reliability, performance and efficiency of the network, thus increasing the overall productivity of the organization.

Features:

The NAS device sits on the network and is optimized for a single purpose: to pump data to users efficiently without the overhead and complexity of general-purpose servers.

NAS devices can produce improved file access performance at a substantially lower cost than general-purpose network servers.
More hard disk storage space to be added to a network that already utilizes servers without shutting them down for maintenance and upgrades.

Storage is not an integral part of the server.

NAS is a class of dedicated hard disk-based storage devices.

NAS devices can also be included as part of a SAN.

The NAS server utilizes SAMBA for Windows network shares.

NAS products frequently support other network protocols, including NetBEUI. NAS products can share and exchange files using well-established protocols like NFS, CIFS open standard and IP. Additional protocols allow NAS "boxes" to operate across a larger variety of network infrastructures.
